SUMMARY:CANCELLED -- Voter Education\, Registration\, and Action (VERA): Voting Ambassador Training
DESCRIPTION:This event has been cancelled. \nCome and learn about how creating a team of Voting Ambassadors gives your students a hands-on way to develop their leadership\, knowledge of civics\, and basic skills (including reading\, writing\, speaking\, and listening). Drawing from the materials in the Voter Education\, Registration\, and Action (VERA) campaign\, your students will learn about the history of voting\, its importance in determining our everyday lives\, and the steps involved in learning the issues\, registering\, and voting. Voting Ambassadors are non-partisan. They promote equity by supporting their peers to make their voices heard through voting and other ways of taking action. A student does not have to be a citizen to be a Voting Ambassador. Non-voters can still engage in elections by supporting their peers to register and vote! This workshop which is designed for the 2024 elections\, will give your program and your students an educational\, relevant\, and impactful pathway to civic engagement.

Recorded sessions offer a dual advantage: they enable participants to revisit previously shared strategies and provide access to missed sessions. With the ongoing trend of session recordings\, we are venturing into a new domain—podcasts. This session will delve into the factors that guided our creation of Digital ATDN‘s TechCast and examine how our new service has impacted other Digital ATDN services.
