Innovative PD in Action: State Models that Build Educator Leadership

March 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EST

What does effective professional development look like when it’s rooted in practice? Join us on March 4, 2026, from 1 to 2:30 PM ET for a conversation featuring Massachusetts and Rhode Island as they share innovative approaches to strengthening adult education through redesigned PD models.

Massachusetts will highlight its program-based coaching approach, which embeds professional learning into ongoing instructional practice and supports educators through structured reflection, feedback, and implementation support. Rhode Island will present BRITFRIT (By Rhode Island Teachers, For Rhode Island Teachers), a practitioner-led model that elevates instructors as experts, builds instructional leadership, and fosters peer-driven learning across the state.

Together, these models demonstrate how states can move beyond one-time workshops toward sustained, collaborative professional development that builds capacity, strengthens leadership, and supports meaningful classroom impact. Participants will leave with concrete ideas for rethinking PD design and implementation in their own contexts.

Register here.

This webinar is hosted by the New England Literacy Resource Center (NELRC) at World Education, which strengthens adult literacy services in the New England region through sharing and collaboration among professional development providers, practitioners and policy-makers.
